The Abbey Hotel in Bath is formed out of three converted Georgian townhouses, wonderfully located just a ten minute walk from Bath Spa Station, three minutes from the towering Abbey and is a stone’s throw from the spectacular Pulteney Bridge.
The Abbey Hotel in Bath
Until 1890, the Georgian townhouses were used as lodging houses, during the Second World War, the hotel was requisitioned for use as Naval offices, but after the war it was refurbished and reopened as the largest hotel in Bath.
Today, the Abbey Hotel has been named as one of Bath’s most popular boutique hotels and is the ideal choice for visitors and residents alike with many of Bath’s top attractions right on the doorstep.
The Rooms
Start the day the right way with breakfast. There’s the choice of going Continental with pastries, fruit, yoghurt and plenty of teas and coffees, or you can top all of this up with something hot – eggs, pancakes, a full English – it’s all here forest you up for a day exploring.
If you want something a little more special for dinner, then the hotel’s new restaurant should be the perfect choice. Two of the world’s most celebrated chefs have collaborated – Pierre Koffmann and Marco Pierre White have joined forces for the first time to produce a brasserie-style eatery serving a mix of English and French classics.
Fancy a tipple in the evening? Then head down to the Abbey Hotel’s ArtBar and take a seat surrounded by a specially curated collection of art work and decide whether to have an artisan coffee, a local craft beer or choose from the bespoke cocktail menu.
The Location
The Abbey Hotel in Bath is perfectly located, it’s easy to get to from the station (no taxi or bus required) and is within walking distance of all the attractions the city has to offer. The tourist information centre is situated opposite which is convenient should you want to grab any leaflets or maps to help plan your visit.
Head out of the hotel and within seconds you’ll be in the heart of this beautiful and historic city.
Overview
This is by far one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the food and drinks are delicious and the location is perfect.
I would definitely recommend the Abbey Hotel to anyone planning a visit to Bath and I can’t wait to return again in the future.
