Dragør
Dragør was originally founded by fishermen in the 1300’s but today the village is the home of several small shops, a picturesque harbour as well as restaurants and cafés with a great, local atmosphere. With narrow streets and low houses dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, the town center is one of the best preserved areas in Denmark.
Aarhus
Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city, home to 335,000 people and being a popular student city it also boasts world-class attractions that rival those of many larger cities so as a visitor you are guaranteed to find something to enjoy in this city where old meets new.
Helsingør
For a sizeable town, Helsingør has successfully maintained its medieval character, which can be appreciated by strolling along the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets between the harbour and the bustling shopping centre. You can also learn about the town’s seafaring heritage at the Maritime Museum of Denmark as well as attend art exhibitions, live music events and even movie screenings at Kulturværftet.
Møns Klint
The 70 million-year-old chalk cliffs are gradually crumbling into the Baltic Sea, making the water beautifully clear and inviting, ideal if you fancy hiring a boat or kayak and exploring the coastline. Other ways to explore this popular and fascinating area are by foot, bike and even horse, either on your own or as part of an organised tour.
Roskilde
Once the capital of Denmark, Roskilde still oozes history, perfect for anyone with an interest in the Vikings. Alternatively the ancient city also offers plenty of modern culture with its well-known music festival, and then there is the stunning Roskilde Cathedral overlooking the city from its highest point.
Dyrehaven
Literally translated as “Deer Park” Dyrehaven is a natural resort filled with lush forests, small lakes and wide, open landscapes. Popular with people that turn to its green hills for picnics, jogging, biking and horseback riding, and renowned for the 2000 free range deer that inhabit the park, so you’re likely to come across a herd of grazing deer during your visit.
Malmö
Just over the bridge into Sweden you’ll find the charming town of Malmö, a mishmash of old and new, Malmö is considered one of the most eclectic cities in Scandinavia. Spiraling skyscrapers loom over bustling squares, and unassuming brick facades which house a treasure of modern artistic creations.
