Over the course of 2019 I’ve been listening to more and more podcasts, they’re a brilliant way to relax whilst on the bus journey to and from work. My favourite podcasts from 2019 are not necessarily new ones but ones that I discovered and enjoyed.
My Favourite Podcasts from 2019
How to Fail With Elizabeth Day
We all fail at time, anyone who says otherwise is lying. Elizabeth Day is a fantastic host, giving her guest time to talk makes it less of an interview and more of a conversation that you happen to be overhearing. The guest have been varied and fascinating, even the ones I wasn’t familiar with gave insights into their lives and provided inspiration and clarity in coping with a variety of life events.
Love Stories With Dolly Alderton
I’m not generally one for wanting to know about celebrity relationships but this podcast is more about relationships, both romantic and platonic, the matter of celebrity is definitely an afterthought. Dolly is fun, quirky and honest which encourages her guests to do the same.
The Little Chapters With Kayte Ferris and Jessica Rose Williams
Two of my favourite writers, Kayte and Jessica created this podcast. Running for 21 episodes there are no additional guests, just two friends discussing a range of different topics. This is a podcast that will inspire you to make small changes in order for you to live a simpler and happier life.
Happy Place With Fearne Cotton
Happiness means something different to everyone, the point of this podcast is to discover what makes different people happy, how they maintain that happiness and the various methods they us when life throws curveballs that threatens to ruin that happiness.
Practical Positivity With Sophie Cliff
Having recently quit her corporate job to become a life coach Sophie Cliff’s podcast is all about finding what makes you happy, finding joy in the smallest and simplest of acts and helping bring joy to others. Mostly the episodes are made up of fantastic tips and life hacks but recently she’s started adding in a few interview episodes where other creative people offer their own ideas and thought on what brings joy to their lives.
Katie Piper’s Extraordinary People
She may hate the word inspirational but that is exactly what Katie Piper is, and so are her guests, as she talks to them about overcoming adversity, finding happiness and confidence. The stories will make you both laugh and cry as you learn of the variety of battles faced.
The Good Life Unravelled With Elizabeth Dhokia
A podcast which discusses what makes people happy, how to create the best life possible and gives her variety of guests the opportunity to share their personal experiences with mental health, self-care and their different approaches to creating an individual lifestyle.
