Walking around a new destination can be tiring and will always require the occasional pit-stop. The great thing about a place like Guernsey, and in particular a town such as St. Peter Port is that you are never far from somewhere great to rest and refuel. This is a quick guide to some of the best places to eat in Guernsey.
Breakfast
Start the day by heading to Café Emilia, a beautiful café with a Portuguese twist. Friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere and great food means you’ll be all set for spending the day exploring.
Recommended: Scrambled eggs with crusty ciabatta bread, sliced avocado and cracked pepper smoked salmon

Brunch
If you’ve been walking the coastal path then Octopus makes the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. They have a varied international menu providing something for everyone, tasty bar snacks, fresh seafood dishes, as well as an extensive steak selection.
Take a break from walking around St. Peter Port by dropping into Le Petit Bistro, serving typical French snacks and light bites along with some more substantial dishes.
Recommended: Croque Monsieur
Location: 56 Lower Pollet, St Peter Port
Lunch
Le Nautique is an incredible seafood restaurant at the heart of St Peter Port, with fantastic views over the harbour. The menu is delightful and the food delicious, the restaurant itself is beautiful and perfect if you’re after lunch in a more formal and elegant atmosphere.
Recommend: Brochette of Scallops and King Prawns cooked in garlic butter with fresh rocket and rice
Location: Quay Steps, St Peter Port
If you’re in the harbour area then head to Mora, from the outside it looks like a wine bar geared towards locals but the friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and great food makes it the ideal place to stop for a bite to eat.
Recommend: Breast of Chicken & Crispy Confit of Belly Pork, Smashed New Potatoes, and Warm Smokey Bacon Vinaigrette
Location: The Quay, St Peter Port
Located in a restored historic building, The Crows Nest occupies the two upper floors of the building and offers informal brasserie style eating and drinking, in stylish and contemporary surroundings.
Recommend: Crisp Confit of Duck on Asian Salad, Pink Ginger & Chilli dressing
Location: Victoria Pier, St Peter Port
Dinner
Christies Brasserie offers a warm welcome and great hospitality along with stunning harbour views and an elegant, art deco theme.
Recommend: Lobster and Crab Linguini
Location: Le Pollet, St Peter Port
On the edge of the harbour, The Slaughterhouse is a stunningly designed eatery in a restored historical building it now offers great food and drinks.
Recommend: Confit duck leg savoy cabbage, spring onion mash, spiced orange jus
Location: Castle Pier, St. Peter Port
In the heart of St. Peter Port is Gusto, a tiny restaurant with just 15 tables. However the staff are lovely and the food is beautiful but unpretentious. Booking is essential.
Recommend: (Trofie alla nerano) Trofie, speck, courgette & cream
Location: 18-20 Smith Street, St Peter Port
The only hotel in the British Isles with it’s own gin brand and distillery, Bella Luce is a family run boutique hotel with a difference. The home of Wheadon’s Gin is where you can enjoy a gin experience ranging from tasting sessions through to “Gin and Dine” evenings.
Recommend: Tagliatelles with prawn tail and Guernsey crab
