Riads are typical types accommodation in Marrakech and are fascinating places to stay, multi level houses with rooms surrounding an open courtyard. Unusual, eclectic with bags of character. Riad Eva was no exception.
Riad Eva, Marrakech
Location:
If you’re looking for basic accommodation, somewhere secure to stay and leave your belongings, then Riad Eva, Marrakech is a fine option. Located deep inside the Medina you’ll find that it takes some searching for. I booked an airport transfer and the driver was extremely helpful and telephoned beforehand to arrange for someone to meet us and walk me to the Riad. Once you navigate the labyrinth it’s a very quiet, safe area.
Amenities:
I stayed in the ground floor room of Riad Eva, Marrakech which was clean and tidy, with sheets and towels available and nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed, tables and a chaise longue, a private en suite was also a bonus.
The staff were all polite and pleasant, but apart from Radouane (who I met briefly) they were not particularly strong in English. I heard a number of people having difficulties with their requests.Â
There is a lovely communal courtyard area and roof terrace which I definitely recommend you check out for the fantastic views across the city and the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
Also, for blogging purposes I found the excellent Wi-Fi to be a bonus.
Price:
For 4 nights.
Including the £18 airbnb service fee I paid £132.00 – This meant £33.00 per night.
Review:
Unless you’re visiting Marrakech in the height of Summer I found the ground floor room to be freezing. Pack a jumper, no matter how warm it is outside you’ll need it for anytime you stay in your room.
I ultimately found this riad to be in a great location, and I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe, so I would recommend staying here, if you are on a tight budget this will be an ideal choice for accommodation.
