We’ve all been there – we’ve found a great value flight to our ideal destination but it’s so early in the morning that when you take into consideration the journey to the airport and the time it takes to get through check in and security it probably isn’t even worth going to bed. Well there’s a solution and it’s called YOTELAIR .
I stayed with YOTELAIR at their Gatwick location the night before my most recent flight and it could not have been simpler or more convenient.
Located in the South Terminal of Gatwick Airport it is moments away from the departure and arrival gates and a short shuttle ride from the North Terminal, meaning you literally step out of your cabin and be ready to board your flight in a really short space of time.Â
YOTELAIR is owned by Simon Woodroffe, founder of the YO! Company (yep, think sushi on conveyor belts) which is fitting seeing as there is a subtle Japanese feel as you enter Mission Control.
Modern, minimal and practical are the first words that popped into my head as I arrived, checked in and entered my cabin.
The staff are friendly and welcoming as they provide you with your key card and even a welcoming complimentary drink (tea, coffee or hot chocolate)
There are three different types of room available at YOTELAIR, single, double or twin. As I was travelling alone I simply booked a single room, this comprises of a raised bed, flatscreen TV, ensuite shower with toilet and basin, a fold out table and Wi-Fi.
This provides not only a comfortable night’s stay but also some practical space if you need to get some work done without distractions.
You might be wondering where you would grab some food if you’re buried away in a tiny cabin underneath an airport terminal – don’t worry, YOTELAIR have got you covered. Head back to Mission Control and place your order:Â
If you arrive and fancy some dinner then they offer a selection of meals, sweet and savoury snacks as well as a range of drinks such as soft drinks, juice, beer, wine and small bottles of spirits. The food on offer includes pizzas, paninis,Â
chicken tikka masala with rice, vegetable lasagne, noodle pots and delicious tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream.
Don’t forget coffee, tea and hot chocolate are complimentary!
If you have time for breakfast in the morning they also offer a selection for you to choose from including muesli bars, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, and fruit juices.Â
Of course it isn’t just early morning departures that can be a little painful, late night arrivals and long layovers can also be an inconvenience, so if you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a quick rest before heading on with the rest of your journey YOTELAIR is a great option. You can actually stay for just four hours which can cost as little as £25.00
Where have you stayed at Gatwick Airport?
